In the book "Bridge to Terabithia" by Katherina Paterson, Jess Aarons runs every morning in the summer so he can be the fastest runner in the 5th grade. When he gets to school that day there is a new girl named Leslie Berk. Everybody is talking about Leslie. At recess when the lower grade boys are getting ready for the running heat 4 Leslie comes down to run also. When they take off Jess is felling good, but when Leslie comes up to try to win Jess can't pass her. On the bus ride home on the 2nd day of school Jess and Leslie become good friends. They go on a "fun" run after school and find a rope swing. When they cross the river with the swing they pretend that the other side is a place called Terabithia. They go to Terabithia every chance they get. On Easter Jess invites Leslie to go to church with him and his family.After church it starts to rain and Jess and Leslie decided to go to Terabithia. After they where there Jess thought that he hade no gut becuse he was scareed to go to Terabitha. The next day Miss Edmunds invites Jess to go to Washington to see the galleries and the Smithsonian. When he gets back May Belle said, " I told he wasn't dead too!" After his dad told him that Leslie died Jess ran down the road and didn't stop until his dad came to get him. When he got home he fell right asleep and when he woke up he thought that Leslie just died in his dream. After 6 pancakes hi dad said that they would go over to Leslie's house to pay their respect. When he got there, there was many red eyed people sitting on the couch. Right befor they where about to leave he learned that they where going to have the body cremated and the ashes scattered around their home in Pennsylvania. Jess was so mad that they where going to cremate her. When they where
about to leave for Pennsylvania Bill (Leslie's dad) asked if Jess would watch PT for him. Jess was still mad that they where goting to cremate her so he tossed him pants that she gave him for X-mas in to the river. The next day he wanted his pants back so he went to look for them. He couldn't find them so he just made a bridge to Terabithia so he could get across. when he herd May Belle scream he tried to get her off of the bridge. When he did he told her that she could be Queen of Terabitha.

I feel happy with this book. I like how they talk in Terabitha. I was sad when Leslie died though.I loved this book very much.

The story ended with Jess letting May Belle be the new Queen of Terabithia. I thought the ending was a very good ending.
